Only issue I've run into with the physical aspect is with the metallic faceplate covering the front of the system. Shoulder buttons work exceptionally well, but I can see fair argument for whether the developers should have placed them on the backside on a bar jutting out, rather than on the top of the system (I prefer the current design). The form factor is phenomenal, albiet takes some getting used to with the more overall smaller design of the system. It feels accurate to how it felt playing on a real PSX with rumble. The rumble works really well! Especially in Vagrant Story. Other PS1 titles I've tested mainly suffer from audio slow downs, and slight audio disfigurement for certain sound effects, as I've mentioned before.Īside from my issues with the PSX, I rather like the system. The text seems clumpt together, and not clear, making it difficult to read. The game is displayed properly, with no apparent graphical issues, save for the text.

The magical circles used to save the game are also improperly displaying the ethereal light as a more solid color, rather than fully translucent.Īnother glaring issue I've run into was with another Ivalice game, Final Fantasy Tactics. Instead of being displayed translucent, beneath the save line, it is displayed in a hard yellow over the save line, and text. Lastly, when saving or loading, a color gradiant of yellow bathes the save bar from left to right. When playing through the dungeons, the shadow beneath Ashley Riot is pure white, instead of looking like a proper shadow.

Visual issues with Vagrant Story: at the end of the interactive prologue, Ashley Riot (the main character) looks outside one of the upper windows of the duke's manor, but the sides of the frames of the building suddenly dissapear, as well as other graphical issues. Like most of the PS1 titles I've tried, I'm hearing notable audio slow down in both sound effects, as well as the music. The other issues I've found with Vagrant Story are as followed. That aside, I'm finding that PSX has been rather disappointing with how many issues I'm finding with it's performance for a lot of my personal favorite games. To my surprise, Star Fox 2 on the same system ran better. Which was just some audio slow down on certain stages. The only game among those that had issues was Star Fox 1 on the SNES/SFC. So far, game compatibility, and performance has been near perfect for everything up to SNES. From what I understand, the RG280V uses the same chip that's in the RG350, so I've come to this reddit for assistance. My RG280V just arrived yesterday, and I've been going through my entire virtual collection on all the different systems up to PSX. Edit* Fixes for the issues are listed at the bottom.
